Ron will stay here for years
Real president blocks Cris exit
SAD ... Cristiano Ronaldo is in demand
REAL MADRID insist Cristiano Ronaldo will not be sold this summer — because they want to build the team around him for years to come.
The Portugal superstar, 28, has been linked with a return to Manchester United while Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.
Ronaldo last year claimed he was “sad” at the Bernabeu, sparking speculation he wanted to quit the club.
But Real president Florentino Perez hopes he will stay and believes he should be their main man for years.
Perez said: “He told me in the summer he was sad and I told him we would do everything possible for him to be content.
“I don’t know if he has an offer from PSG. I think Cristiano is the best player in the world.
“We want to build the Madrid of the future around him and I would like Cristiano to be the best paid player in the world.”
Real lost out to on the signing of Brazilian ace Neymar to Barcelona at the weekend.
And Perez added: “If we had been able to sign Neymar without altering the eco-system of the club we would have but there were too many conditions attached.
“It would have cost us £130million. I don’t know how much it cost Barcelona.”
Perez wants Zinedine Zidane to lead the club into a new era when Jose Mourinho leaves at the end of the season.
The former France star played for Real between 2001 and 2006 and was named World Player of the Year three times.
His is currently Real’s director of football but Perez believes one day he will take over as manager.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti is the favourite to replace Mourinho, who is returning to Chelsea.
And Perez said: “We don’t know who will be the new coach.
“But we want this new sporting project to be lead by Zidane. I hope one day he will be coach.
“When we choose the coach, the new person and him will analyse the team so we can take a qualitative step forward.”
Real have been linked with a £60million move for Tottenham forward Gareth Bale.
When asked about signings, Perez added: “We have a magnificent team. All I can say is that we will improve by signing the best.
“I have thought about two players and some more from the youth team. We will see what the coach and Zidane say.”
